July 2026 – we end the season with some very different hatchlings…come and see!

As hatching season 2026 comes to a close, we’d like to share a very special video with you. Over on our branch farm in Kent, some birds of a very different kind have been hatching and growing…

As their name indicates, barn owls like to nest in barns and old buildings, so it’s no surprise they chose this quiet spot to raise their family. Enjoying a diet of mainly rodents, they are a welcome sight on any farm. One night we witnessed the male of this little family bringing 14 mice, rats and voles to his owlets in the nest over a period of just 2 hours!

Thanks to the tucked away ‘Owl Cam’, we’ve been glued to their progress. These adults successfully reared 3 owlets last year – so we couldn’t wait to see how many would finally emerge from the nest box this time, and were thrilled to discover there were 5!

Below is a little video for you to enjoy, which captured the precious moments when the first baby finally popped out and had a look at the world outside their nest box!

Meanwhile, over in Norfolk, we’ve been enjoying watching a different barn owl family on their evening hunts over the water meadows…

It’s been our busiest hatching season ever, so the team here at Incredible Eggs are now due a well-earned break.

As the 2026 season comes to a close, we would like to thank all who took part this year, including everyone from first-time hatchers to those who have been working with us for over 15 years! It’s truly been a pleasure, as always.

Our timetables will open on September the 1st, 2026 for bookings in 2027, so goodbye until then and we wish you all a wonderful summer!
